Between the Zapurvis and the Pasamanė lakes, archeologists have found the remains of a 3rd century A.D. village next to the Juodakalnis man-made hill. All four historical capitals of Lithuania – Kernavė, Trakai, Kaunas and Vilnius – were established about the same distance from this fascinating, impressive patch of land surrounded by the rolling region of Aukštaitija, with a scent of pine forests in the nearby Dzūkija region.
