Enjoy a pleasant morning 28 km drive to Trakai, the ancient capital of Lithuania, with the 15th century Trakai Castle amidst the lakes.
Free afternoon in Vilnius. Overnight.

Day 3
Sun |
Vilnius city tour including the main historic and architectural monuments of the town. Medieval Jewish quarter its lanes and courts, Gaon and Jewish streets, the history of Great Vilna Synagogue, the personality of Gaon of Vilna. World famous Jewish printing house “Widow and Brothers Romm”. Ghettos of Vilna where more than 40.000 Jews were concentrated in 1941-1943, the building of Judenrath of the Rudininku street.
Visit to the Jewish State Museum telling a tragic story of the Jewish community
The most famous religious authority, who determined the religious and cultural singularity of the Lithuanian Jews, was a sage of the 18th century – the Vilna Gaon. The name of Vilna Gaon Elijah ben Solomon Zalman, the greatest sage of the 18th century, the world-famous commentator of Torah and Talmud, made Vilnius famous as Lithuanian Jerusalem. His powerful intellect and erudition caused Vilnius to become a spiritual centre of Jews that was known all over the world. In the beginning of the 20th century Jacob S. Reizin wrote: “After completing the Talmud, almost no expert of Jewish literature was better than or at least equal to Elijah of Vilnius.” |

Morning visit to the Jewish Cultural Centre and/or the Jewish school.
Afternoon tour to Ponar (Paneriai), southeast of Vilnius, the place of the Vilnius Jewry mass extermination by the Nazis.
Visit to the Jewish Cemetery in Vilnius.

Day 5
Tues |
Morning departure to Kaunas. Hotel accommodation.
City tour includes the most interesting – architectural and historic monuments in the Old Town; former Kaunas Jewish ghetto; Sugihara Center; Kaunas Choral Synagogue. Overnight in Kaunas.

Day 6
Wed |
Morning visit to the Ninth Fort Museum, a former death site of thousands of Jewish nationals during the World War II.
After departure from Kaunas to Riga with en route stop in Kedainiai.
Hotel accommodation.

Day 7
Thurs |
Morning walking tour of Riga including its major historic and architectural sights, visits to the Synagogue and the Jewish Cultural Centre, tour to Salaspils and a visit to the Holocaust Memorial.
Transfer to the airport for a departure flight home.

One full day may be set for “root“ tours to visit towns and villages where your forefathers came from.
Car transfers and guide/escort services for additional payment.
