| Ryanair to launch Kaunas-Brussels route in February |
Ryanair will begin operating thrice-weekly flights between Kaunas and Brussels South Charleroi Airport starting in February, the Kaunas Airport said in a news release. Europe's biggest low-cost carrier will fly Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting on February 1. A Ryanair official said he hoped the new route would offer competitive fares for business travellers, and that it would encourage Belgians to holiday in Lithuania. Kaunas is Lithuania's second largest city, about an hour's drive from the capital Vilnius. At the time of writing, the web site of Ryanair competitor Brussels Airlines was featuring special prices on flights to Vilnius. Brussels Airlines offers daily flights between Vilnius and Brussels Airport. |
